Thank you for visiting, hope you enjoy it!

I'm so glad that you are here!

My name is Haruka Hayakawa. I am a graphic designer and illustrator.

As a designer, I enjoy all aspects of design process from researching client's interest/project theme, brainstorming, building information/visual hierarchy, illustrating, developing design solution, critiquing — sometimes starting over — and refining to perfection. I do my best to serve and collaborate with my clients to find the most effective visual solution which enables clients' message to stand out to their target audience with clarity and the quality that lasts.

As an illustrator, I am passionate about developing original illustrative assets for each project to deliver a visual experience that is unique, whimsical and pleasantly startling to the viewers. I love the idea of creating something that did not exist a moment ago, and now it is displayed in front of us with a purpose to deliver a message, to create a memorable moment or to simply enrich our everyday life with its presence.

I studied art in 3-year art high school in Japan where I learned painting with oil, water color and Japanese mineral pigments, sculpturing and life drawing. Then I shifted my focus to design and came to the U.S. where I earned BA in Graphic Design. I currently reside and work in Los Angeles, California. My hands-on softwares include Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Flash, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Acrobat and Microsoft Office. Though I mostly draw on the computer, I would love to work on line drawing and water color projects. I am also a native Japanese speaker, if that is a plus for you.

Aside from all these above, I love to spend time with my family, especially with my adorable daughter who always inspires me in our playtime.

Please have a look at my design showcase. If you need any help lighten up your project, please let me know.
